From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. A group of mothers let toddler tussles get the better of them when a spat over their children's behaviour escalated to an all-out brawl.

The women, who were attending a birthday party held at a soft play centre in Serpukhov, a town just south of Moscow, Russia, were captured fighting on CCTV.

The shocking footage shows them pushing, punching, kicking and shoving each other. One woman even puts another in a headlock and pulls her hair.

A young girl is seen trying to pull her mother to safety as the fight breaks out - and at one point, a dad, named by Metro as Serbian Negosh Bugarin, 44, wades into the middle of the exchange and appears to knock one of the women to the ground.

The fight reportedly started after one of the mothers, named by the newspaper as 'Anastasia', complained to another parent about her child's behaviour.

The other mothers - and the dad - got involved while the children looked on aghast, some crying and running away. Others appear to be standing frozen to the spot with their hands over their mouths.

Eventually, security guards moved in to separate the two groups and the police were called.
