BRASILIA (Reuter) - Brazilian police asked on Wednesday for the arrest of two former aides of President Fernando Collor de Mello, alleging that they were obstructing an investigation into government corruption, a court official said.
The official, who asked not to be identified, confirmed reports that police had asked a judge in Brasilia to authorise the arrest of Mr Collor's former private secretary, Claudio Vieira, and Paulo Cesar Farias, an election campaign treasurer.
