A pilot has died after two planes collided at a local air show, close to the beach at Tortoreto, on the east coast of Italy.
One plane immediately crashed into the water. The pilot, Marco Ricci, 47, suffered multiple fractures and died from drowning. His body was recovered by divers who used an air balloon to resurface the plane.
The other plane was able to level out and crash land further along the beach. The pilot is reported as Luigi Wilmo Franceschetti, who managed to escape with minor injuries.
