Bonn - Germany's Greens, back in power after last Sunday's general election, have demanded equal rights in the lower house.
Joschka Fischer, Green parliamentary leader, said his party was entitled to key posts in the chamber, including a seat on a secretive committee for security affairs.
In the Eighties, Chancellor Helmut Kohl's coalition and the Social Democrats barred the Greens from administrative posts and top committees in parliament, arguing the small party was too radical. Reuter
