Exit polls show that Syriza are leading in the Greek elections, with the left-wing party set to win between 30 and 34 per cent of the vote.

The second place party, New Democracy, are close behind, with 28.5 to 38.5 per cent of the vote.

The general election in Greece was triggered when former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who signed the controversial bailout deal with its European creditors, stepped down on 20 August.
