A fire which South African prisoners demanding the vote in next month's elections apparently lit in their own cell killed 21 inmates, Reuter reports from Johannesburg.

The fire at Queenstown prison, Eastern Cape, was part of mass action by the South African Prisoners' Organisation for Human Rights.
