HONG KONG (Reuter) - China has agreed to crack down on illegal sales of human organs for transplant, to eliminate profiteering by middlemen.
Daniel Fang, President of the Hong Kong Medical Association, said on his return from a trip to Peking that Chinese authorities had promised to punish anyone caught trading in human organs.
Chinese authorities said information on organ transplants in China would be made freely available.
