The hospital and surrounding area of Kreuzberg was also sealed off, local news agencies reported.
A police spokeswoman said officers had opened fire on a man near the Klinikum Am Urbam medical facility.
He was hit in the leg, tagesspiegel.de reported, and is currently being cared for at the hospital.
According to German Der Tagesspiegal, the man had allegedly attacked the officers, forcing them to shoot.
No further injuries were reported.
