Barely half Moldova's electorate voted yesterday in the country's first pluralist poll - a finely balanced contest between pro-Russia parties and a bloc supporting a merger with neighbouring Romania, AFP reports from Kishinyov.
Some 54.7 per cent of Moldova's 2.9 million voters had cast their ballots by 6pm, just two hours before polling stations were due to close.
