About 170 patients and staff in a south Rwanda hospital were slaughtered yesterday, the latest massacre in the central African country's civil war, a medical-aid agency said, Reuter reports from Nairobi. Doctors with Medecins Sans Frontieres reported the killing from Butare, in the south, near the frontier with Burundi. The organisation said it was pulling its staff out of southern Rwanda.
