Belgium yesterday proposed a central European organisation to trace missing children modelled on a similar centre that exists in the United States. "Either we will take a purely Belgian initiative ... but ideally we would like to create, at a European level, a centre for missing or abused children," Belgian Deputy Prime Minister, Elio di Rupo, told RTBF television.

The parents of Julie Lejeune, one of four young Belgian girls who died after being kidnapped by a paedophile ring, visited the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Arlington, Virginia, several weeks ago. Reuter - Brussels
