Your support makes all the difference.President Clinton is proposing dollars 263.4bn (pounds 177bn) in military spending in what the Defense Secretary, Les Aspin, called the 'first truly post-Cold War budget,' according to Pentagon documents, AP reports from Washington.
The plan calls for a cut in the number of navy battle-force ships from 443 to 413, a drop in aircraft carriers to 12, trimming the number of army active divisions from 14 to 12 and reducing Air Force fighter wings from 28 to 24.
