Bear homes in on radar station
ANCHORAGE (Reuter) - A polar bear crashed through a window and mauled a worker inside a remote United States Air Force radar station in northern Alaska, officials said.
Donald Chaffin of Wasilla, Alaska, was reported in critical but stable condition at an Anchorage hospital. One of his colleagues fought off the bear with a fire extinguisher before another shot it dead during the attack in the building's library.
