The 26-year-old man from Sydney, who goes by the online handle MrDeadMoth, was arrested after someone saw the video and reported him to police.
He was using Twitch to stream himself playing Fortnite around 8.30pm on Sunday when his partner approached and the couple argued.
“Can you not? I’ll be out soon,” he can be heard yelling in the video, before he gets up from his chair as the livestream continues recording.
“No computer, I’m sick of this s***,” his wife replies.
The sound of a slap is then heard, followed by crying.
“Just go away,” the man can be heard saying. “Leave me alone. I’ll be out soon. How many times do I have to tell you?”
The man then sits back down and continues playing the game.
“You f***ing woman basher,” the woman says.
They can be heard arguing more, before she says: “Don’t hit me in the face. Don’t you dare touch my face.
“You hear that, all you people there? He just hit me in the face.”
She adds: “I cooked him dinner an hour ago and he refuses to eat it.”
She demands he apologises and he says: “I will come out and say sorry.”
“No, you say sorry now,” she says, before he can be seen getting up from his chair, raising his arm and appearing to hit something off camera.
More sobbing can be heard, joined by the sound of a child crying.
Police confirmed two girls, aged three and 20 months, were at home at the time.
“You bash women,” the woman can be heard to say on the video.
“Do they know you touched me and I’m pregnant? I want these people to know that I’m pregnant and he just bashed me.”
The couple continue arguing, before the man says: “F*** off you dog. You don’t pay the f***ing bills.”
He then gets up again and the sound of another punch or slap can be heard, before crying and screaming.
“Daddy! Daddy!” a child can be heard shouting before he sits down to continue playing.
The man was arrested by NSW Police at 11.30pm on Sunday and charged with common assault at Narellan police station.
Police said the woman “was not seriously injured” but was “distressed and shaken by the incident”.
They also said they served the man an apprehended violence order.
He will appear at Camden Local Court on Thursday.
The video showing the alleged assault has been removed from Twitch, but has been shared widely on Twitter.
