Fist fights are nothing new in South Korea's parliament, but yesterday an opposition politician tried to choke off the debate – literally.
MPs representing the government were hit by a tear-gas canister as they backed a free-trade deal with the US. The legislation was still ratified despite chaos in the debating chamber leading to scuffles and shouting.
