South Korea's next defence chief has outlined a tough new strategy towards its neighbour, saying jets would bomb the North if it stages another attack.
President Lee Myung-bak's government has been criticised over its response to North Korea's barrage on the island of Yeonpyeong on 23 November – especially after it was revealed that the South's spy chief dismissed information in August indicating that the North might attack the island.
