New satellite images show that North Korea has completed a key step in the construction of a light-water reactor at its main nuclear complex, although it could take several more years before it is fully operational.
Allison Puccioni at Jane's Defence Weekly said images from the GeoEye-1 satellite showed a dome had been hoisted atop the reactor building. "The emplacement of the dome is a significant development, although it may take several more years for the facility to be completed and brought into full operation," she said.
