Trump claims 'rarely has an administration achieved what we have' despite no major legislative win

In the first 200 days of his administration, Mr Trump failed to repeal and replace Obamacare and continued to be bogged down by controversies connected to probes into his campaign advisers’ possible ties to Russia, investigations that he has referred to as a “witch hunt”.
The President has also still been unable to secure funding for the construction of a border wall. Mr Trump repeatedly promised during his presidential campaign that he would build a continuous barrier along the US's 2,000-mile border with Mexico and said Mexico would pay for it.
“After 200 days, rarely has any Administration achieved what we have achieved..not even close!” Mr Trump tweeted from New Jersey. “Don't believe the Fake News Suppression Polls!”
Mr Trump did not list any examples of what his administration has accomplished. However, the President then retweeted a Fox News post saying that 1.074m jobs had been added during his presidency so far, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Last month, after it appeared there was not enough support in the Senate to pass a healthcare bill, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell defended the upper chamber's work at a news conference. When asked how he'll explain to voters why Republicans have not accomplished anything major yet in 2017, Mr McConnell pointed out that the Senate had confirmed Mr Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch.
“Well, we have a new Supreme Court justice,” Mr McConnell said. “We have 14 repeals of regulation and we’re only six months into it — the last time I looked, Congress goes on for two years. We’ll be moving on to comprehensive tax reform and infrastructure,” he said. “There is much work left to be done for the American people and we’re ready to tackle it.”
The Senate and House of Representatives are currently in recess until September.
