Your support helps us to tell the story

My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Amy Coney Barrett, President Donald Trump’s third nomination to the Supreme Court, is on Capitol Hill for another day of senate confirmation hearings amid a backdrop of outcry from Democrats over Republican-led efforts to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg during an election season in which 10 million Americans have already voted.

The federal judge faced tough questions from Democratic senators and declined to reveal whether she would support overturning key rulings on the Affordable Care Act and Roe v Wade, which, respectively, provides insurance protections for millions and ensures access to women’s reproductive health care options nationwide.

Former Vice President Joe Biden has also addressed questions from the president and his allies about so-called “court-packing” efforts, saying he was “not a fan” of adding seats to the nation’s top court in an interview on Monday. Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading epidemiologist, has warned the Trump campaign against a blitz of in-person events its planning across the country, telling CNN about the rise of new Covid-19 cases: “The data speaks for itself.”

She announced the release of the book, “Left Out: When the Truth Doesn’t Fit In”, in a Fox News story moments ago, saying: “It doesn't have anything to do with the election.”

"I do discuss Joe Biden and how I experienced Joe Biden as a staffer and as a woman. And it was not a positive experience, yet he is going to the most powerful position in the Western world," she said.

2 arrested for stealing Trump-Pence campaign signs in Tucson

Authorities in Tucson have arrested two people for allegedly stealing signs supporting Donald Trump’s campaign.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the arrests were made Sunday night after someone called into 911 to report the taking of a Trump-Pence sign. A caller also described the suspect’s vehicle. Investigators say a Pima County sheriff’s airplane spotted the suspect’s car stop and someone get out to take a sign.

Deputies pulled the car over and found two Trump-Pence signs in the trunk. Sheriff’s officials say the only two occupants of the car were both arrested on a misdemeanor charge of removal of a political sign. They have since been released.

They have been identified as 23-year-old Christian Fernandez and 25-year-old Aerin Mazza. It was not immediately known Tuesday if either had retained an attorney.

Mazza is an organizer for Fuerte Arts Movement, an advocacy group that empowers the Latino community through digital media. In a statement, the group said it does not condone Mazza’s actions and called them inappropriate. She has been suspended while they evaluate the situation. - AP
