Your support helps us to tell the story

My recent work focusing on Latino voters in Arizona has shown me how crucial independent journalism is in giving voice to underrepresented communities.

Your support is what allows us to tell these stories, bringing attention to the issues that are often overlooked. Without your contributions, these voices might not be heard.

Every dollar you give helps us continue to shine a light on these critical issues in the run up to the election and beyond

Kamala Harris poked fun at an answer to a debate question given by Donald Trump while speaking at an awards dinner in Washington on Saturday night.

“We actually have a plan for health care. Not just concepts of a plan,” the vice president told attendees at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Phoenix Awards to raucous laughter.

Harris was introduced by President Joe Biden who received a lifetime achievement award and gave a brief rundown of his accomplishments on behalf and alongside the Black community.

Speaking glowingly of Harris, he said: “I will be proud to stand on the steps of the Capitol and watch her being sworn in as president of the United States of America.”

Outrage continues following Trump’s claim during Tuesday’s likely-only presidential debate that the Haitian community in Springfield, Ohio (who are there legally, and at the town’s invitation), were stealing and eating domestic pets

While the city officials and the governor have denied this is happening, Trump’s running mate, Ohio senator JD Vance has further stoked tensions by reposting an unverified video as alleged evidence.

Footage of what appears to be the Proud Boys on a main thoroughfare has surfaced and bomb threats have been called into hospitals, schools, and offices.

Kamala Harris’s summer job at McDonalds is the latest thing under Trump’s skin

While still facing the fallout from his controversial visit to Arlington National Cemetery last week, Donald Trump has launched a new line of attack on his Democratic presidential rival Kamala Harris: baselessly claiming that she is lying about working at McDonald’s in the 1980s.

Harris has repeatedly mentioned her brief stint holding down a summer job at the fast food joint while at college since she ascended to the top of the Democratic party’s ticket.

And, for some reason, it appears to have gotten under Trump’s skin.

Over the weekend, the former president has repeatedly accused Harris – without any evidence – of lying about working at McDonald’s.

Tim Walz rally crowd trolls Trump with chants of ‘we don’t eat cats’

The crowd at Tim Walz’s rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday trolled Donald Trump over his false claims that Haitian immigrants are eating pets, breaking out into chants of: “We don’t eat cats!”

The Democratic vice presidential nominee reflected on Tuesday’s presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Trump, teasing the former president with his now-classic buzzword for the Republican ticket: “weird.”

“He said a lot of weird stuff too, so I’m just going to say that,” the Minnesota governor told the crowd.

Harris’s betting odds surge past Trump in wake of debate

Kamala Harris is surging past Donald Trump in the betting odds following Tuesday’s debate debacle for the former president.

After having started this week behind Trump, Harris is now even with him or ahead, according to a number of U.K. and offshore betting markets, USA Today noted.

At the U.K. bookmaker Betfair Exchange, more than $1.1 million was wagered during Tuesday night’s showdown, with Harris taking the lead about halfway through the debate, which went on for over 90 minutes.

Harris campaign enters its ‘Kamala Era’ with new Taylor Swift-themed ads

The Kamala Harris campaign has swiftly capitalized on Taylor Swift’s public endorsement of the Harris-Walz ticket with the launch of its new advertisements.

On Friday (September 13), just days after the megastar, 34, announced she would be voting for Harris in the 2024 presidential election, the Democratic National Committee displayed its new slogan – “A New Way Forward…. Ready for It?” and “We’re In Our Kamala Era” – across digital billboards in New York’s Times Square and the Las Vegas strip.

The first part of the motto is a reference to the lead track off Swift’s 2017 Reputation album, while the second portion is a play on Swift’s record-breaking Eras tour.

Colin Jost roasts Trump, says his comedy special will be ‘second-funniest live event this week’

Saturday Night Live’s Colin Jost and Michael Che have roasted Donald Trump’s remarks about immigrants eating cats and dogs in their first-ever live comedy special.

Colin Jost & Michael Che Present: New York After Dark premiered on Peacock on Thursday and saw the duo take a timey swipe at the former president after his bizarre outburst at Tuesday’s election debate with Kamala Harris.

In a claim, that was almost immediately debunked by ABC News moderator David Muir, Trump said: “In Springfield, they’re eating the dogs. The people that came in. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating – they’re eating the pets of the people that live there. And this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”

Trump obsesses at golf course event over ABC anchor for fact-checking him during debate: ‘Foolish fool’

Donald Trump has resorted to mocking the ABC News moderator who fact-checked him during his first debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

ABC News moderator David Muir fact-checked Trump multiple times during his debate with Harris. Now, the former president is railing against him, calling the broadcaster a “foolish fool” during a press conference at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles in Rancho Palos Verdes, California on Friday.

“You wouldn’t have to need a bureau of justice statistics to know that crime is worse than it’s ever been,” Trump said. “They probably watched the debate and probably heard this foolish man, this foolish fool, make that statement to me that, ‘no no, crime is coming down, the FBI said it was coming down.’”

VOICES: Trump has found a new way to contradict reality

Donald has just ducked out of a second debate against Kamala Harris – presumably because he remembered the trouncing he got during the first round (although he seems to think that Hannibal Lecter is a real person, so that’s a coin toss).

His reasoning? Why, because he “clearly” won the first debate, of course, so he doesn’t see a need for a second one. You know, the debate where he said that immigrants are roaming the country looking for pets to eat, and talked about executing newborns? Those are all the signs of a slam dunk victory, baby...

Trump, ever the compassionate sparring partner, thinks that his opponent should “focus” on her job as vice president, instead of coming up with new ways to eviscerate him on national television. Harris, on the other hand, seems to disagree, telling a campaign rally in North Carolina that the two “owe” voters another debate, because “what is at stake could not be more important” (with “what is at stake” presumably being an opportunity to figure out if Trump thinks Springfield, Ohio, is where Homer Simpson lives).

Trump has found a new way to contradict reality

The former president’s refusal to go toe-to-toe with Kamala again is indicative of a much deeper problem with his campaign strategy, writes Ryan Coogan
