Ms Omar, who is a Minnesota Democrat, shared a black and white photo of herself and her new husband smiling and holding hands.
In a short caption alongside the photo, Ms Omar wrote: “Got married! From partners in politics to life partners, so blessed. Alhamdulillah.”
Mr Mynett has previously worked as a political consultant for Ms Omar, hence the reference to the two as “partners in politics”.
The pair’s relationship has been subject to scrutiny in the last year after Mr Mynett’s ex-wife Beth Mynett claimed in court papers that the politician had an affair with her husband.
In divorce papers filed in 2019, Ms Mynett said her husband told her he was in love with the Democrat and that he was ending his marriage to be with her.
Mr Mynett denied his ex-wife’s claims.
Ms Omar filed for divorce from her previous husband Ahmed Hirsi in October 2019, citing an “irretrievable breakdown” of the relationship.
Mr Hirisi is the father to Ms Omar's three children, for whom they requested to share joint custody.
Mr Hirsi has also remarried after the pair’s divorce was finalised in November, according to The Daily Mail.
In 2019 Jaime Driggs, Ms Omar’s lawyer said that “speculation and innuendo from political opponents and the media” had played a part in the breakdown of her marriage.
The comments on Ms Omar’s Instagram post were filled with well-wishes for the couple and has amassed over 170,000 likes.
