Rudy Giuliani's "star witness" at a memorable Michigan election fraud hearing last week is refusing to self-quarantine, despite spending the day indoors and maskless with people who have now tested positive for Covid-19.

Mr Giuliani, 76, remains in hospital with the virus, and his colleague Jenna Ellis, 36, was reported on Tuesday to have tested positive. She is refusing to confirm her diagnosis.

The Arizona state legislature announced it would close for two weeks following Mr Giuliani and Ms Ellis' visit, yet Mellissa Carone said she would not follow the recommendations to quarantine.

"I'm not concerned at all, no," she said, when asked on Inside Edition on Tuesday night about the coronavirus spread at the hearing.

Ms Carone said she was working as a contractor for Dominion Voting System at the Detroit TCF Center, and observed massive election fraud.

Her passionate tirade, which at one point saw her being told by Mr Giuliani to tone it down, immediately went viral. She was forced to deny that she was drunk, and her performance was parodied on Saturday Night Live.

Ms Carone told the Michigan House Oversight Committee hearing last week about her claims that she saw poll workers running ballots through voting machines "thousands of times". A judge has said her claims were "not credible."

Following the Wednesday hearing, the Michigan health department has ordered that anyone who did not wear a face covering should quarantine until 12 December.

Ms Carone, 33, said that she has no intention of doing so and will not get tested.

She told the Washington Post that she would continue to live her life in the Detroit suburbs as normal unless the order to quarantine came from Mr Trump himself.

"I would take it seriously if it came from Trump, because Trump cares about American lives," she said, adding that she would also get tested if Mr Trump's new favourite television networks, One America News or Newsmax, advised it.

"It is not that I don't believe in getting tested," she said.

"I don't trust the tests."

Ms Carone said that, in the aftermath of her appearance at the hearing, Democrats were trying to "destroy" her.

"My life has been destroyed," she said.

"I've lost family, I've lost friends. I've had to change my phone number. I've had to get rid of social media.

"I can't even get an actual job anymore because Democrats like to ruin their lives, that's why, like they did to Trump."
