Mysterious blue dots have been appearing outside the homes of Biden-Harris supporters in California, according to reports.
KCRA reported that spray-painted circles had appeared on the road in front of houses in Roseville with Biden-Harris signs in the run-up to the election.
“It’s pretty creepy,” said Adam Quilici, who lives in Roseville. “I feel targeted and intimidated a little bit. It just seems like it's not OK.”
Mr Quilici told the outlet that one of his neighbors made him aware of the spray paint on Sunday.
“She said, ‘Hey, you might want to look in front of your house,’” Mr Quilici said.
“The houses that were targeted have Biden-Harris signs in front of them — every single one,” he said. “There aren't any blue dots anywhere where there are not those signs present.”
Roseville police said they are investigating the dots after receiving several calls about them.
Mr Quilici explained to the broadcaster that he also called the police, who believed their apperance was unusual.
“They wanted to make sure it wasn’t a water line or a utilities thing. They said, ‘No, this is definitely not,’” he said.
Neighbors said they think the dots were spray-painted sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, only a couple of days before the election on Tuesday.
"At first I was scared and extremely upset, and then I just got angry, and now I'm just angry and it just makes me more determined to keep my signs up,” one resident told CBS 12.
The paint has since been removed, and police said the blue dots have only been located in one neighborhood.
None of the political signs at the homes were moved or damaged, the broadcaster reported. Mr Quilici explained the occurrence has still made him feel uneasy.
“This is not just a smashed pumpkin on Halloween,” Mr Quilici said. “This is like a message and I’m not really OK with it.”
California is one of the nation’s most Democratic states with the party outnumbering registered Republicans by nearly two to one.
