Tennessee couple wins $1.6 billion powerball
The couple timidly made the announcement on NBC's Today show
A Tennessee couple has won the largest lottery jackpot in US history.
Lisa and John Robinson of Munford made the announcement on Friday on the NBC’s Today show.
The couple was hesitant to go public with the news, however, the lottery tickets have not been verified by officials.
“Actually, [I was] a little scared because I didn't know exactly what do to,” he said. “I knew that I wanted to get an accountant. I knew that I wanted to get a lawyer and try to follow the procedures that they tell you to follow.”
The other winning tickets were purchased in California and Florida.
