The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has criticised a TikTok prankster who filmed himself spilling cereal and milk onto a subway carriage, populated by essential workers.

The prankster, popular TikTok star @fckjoshy, was filmed, with his face mask around his neck, spilling a large container of cereal and milk onto the moving train.

In the video, which has more than 420,000 likes on his TikTok page, he filled a box full of cereal and milk, and then dropped it on the floor of the 4 train, that was on its way to the Bronx.

He narrated the video and said: “I accidentally dropped a whole tub of cereal on the subway today,” and added: “I was like ‘oh my god this is the worst day of my life, not my fruity pebbles.’

The MTA tweeted about the incident and criticised the star for pulling the prank during the global coronavirus pandemic.

“A new low: Pulling a prank on essential workers in the middle of a global pandemic. And making essential workers clean up your mess. Despicable,” the account tweeted.

Twitter users also criticised his actions, and @ashleyholyfield tweeted her disgust at the TikTok star’s video.

“They’re stopping the trains at night for the first time in 115 years to clean them bc we’re in the middle of a pandemic but pls, fckjoshy, go off with your ‘prank’ while also wearing your mask around your neck,” she tweeted.

Others called for him to be banned from TikTok, and user @brebekahh tweeted: “While some people don’t have the luxury to work from home & are forced to take public transportation during a pandemic, this guy thinks this is funny. Ban him.”

Earlier this week, the TikTok user filmed himself walking in a supermarket, with a whole cut out of his face mask.

In the video he went to a supermarket and to a takeaway pizza shop, and spoke to employees while appearing to stand closer than six feet to them.

He was told to leave both shops by members of staff.
