From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. New Jersey governor and former GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie was spotted during a rare moment of recreation at a Bruce Springsteen concert in Brooklyn, New York.

Mr Christie has never tried to hide his love for the Springsteen’s music that champions the working class life in the Garden State, and he made no effort to start hiding it at the Monday night show.

Countless concert attendees documented Mr Christie having the time of his life at the concert, belting out lyrics, pumping his fist, and baning on air drums to the signature sounds of The Boss and his E-Street Band.

The Washington Post noted that Mr Christie appeared to be having a “religious experience.”

Unfortunately, Springsteen's feelings for the New Jersey governor are not quite as enthusiastic — regardless of the fact that Mr Christie has been to well over 100 concerts.

The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg documented Mr Christie’s Springsteen fandom.

“Despite heroic efforts by Christie” to befriend Springsteen, Mr Goldberg wrote, “Springsteen, who is still a New Jersey resident, will not talk to him.”
