Morries Hall, a friend of George Floyd’s who was in the car with him at the moment of his arrest, told a Minneapolis court on Wednesday he will refuse to testify if he’s called to the witness stand in the murder trial of Derek Chauvin.

In a court filing on Wednesday night, Mr Hall announced his decision, citing the Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

Drugs were found in the car in which police first encountered the men, after being called to investigate Mr Floyd’s use of a counterfeit $20
