McDonalds is being sued over mozzarella sticks customers claim aren't cheesy enough
Lawsuit is seeking $5 million from the fast-food chain.

McDonalds has been hit with a $5 million lawsuit from a California man and other customers who say the fast food giant's mozzarella sticks are not cheesy enough.
The burger chain introduced mozzarella sticks nationwide in January, according to Business Insider, though the snack had previously been available in other markets. But when people spend $1 for three mozarella sticks, apparenty they expect mozarella.
Law 360 reports that Chris Howe and 40 others filed suit because they claim McDonalds uses a starch filler as a small part of its mozarella stick recipe, which the suit alleges violates federal guidelines.
“Our mozzarella cheese sticks are made with 100% low moisture part skim mozzarella cheese," the company said in a statement. "We intend to defend ourselves vigorously against these allegations.”
Some photos on social media show the snacks with very little cheese.
