Kobe Bryant ’s widow says her brain “refuses to accept” that both her husband and daughter Gianna are gone.
In an emotional Instagram post alongside memorial video, Vanessa wrote: “I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong.”
She added that she feels angry that she is able to wake up each day when “my baby girl isn’t being able to have that opportunity,” adding: “She had so much life to live."
But she said that she knows she needs to be strong for her three other daughters, saying she is mad that she can’t be with Kobe and Gigi but “thankful I’m here with Natalia, Bianka and Capri”.
She added that she knows her feelings are a “normal … part of the grieving process” but had decided to share to help others who’ve suddenly lost loved ones.
