An Ohio judge on Monday sentenced a former kindergarten teacher to 56 years in prison for recording his students using the restroom with a spy camera.

Judge Ronald P. Forsthoefel sentenced Elliot Gornall, 33, over more than 180 counts involving “illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance,” Ashland County Common Pleas Court documents obtained by The Independent showed.

Mr Gornall, detained in early March, had not contested the charges that he recorded his students in Loudonville, Ohio in 2014.

Court documents also showed that Mr Gornall’s home was in the process of foreclosure.
