Donald Trump said he'd love to fight Vice President Joe Biden

Donald Trump said he would love to go to “the back of the barn” with Joe Biden, responding to the vice president’s wish that they were both in high school so he could fight the Republican “behind the gym”.

Speaking at a rally in Tallahassee, Florida, the party nominee claimed that Mr Biden was always campaigning for Hillary Clinton, who he “couldn’t stand”. Mr Trump also accused him of knowing about Ms Clinton using her private email server when she was secretary of state.

He then could not resist the temptation to respond to the vice president’s threats to fight it out behind the gym.

“Did you see where Biden wants to take me? To the back of the barn? Take me. He wants to. I’d love that.

“I’d love that! Mr Tough Guy. You know, Mr Tough Guy. You know when he’s Mr Tough Guy? When he’s standing behind a microphone.

“That’s when he — he wants to bring me to the back of the barn. Oh. Some things in life you could really love doing.”

The remarks come a few days after Mr Biden said he was routinely asked if he would like the chance to debate Donald Trump one-on-one.

His response was: “No, I wish we were in high school, and I could take him behind the gym.”

Mr Trump’s remarks about fighting the vice president come the same week that the New York Times released an archive of interviews that the real estate mogul did with reporter Michael D’Antonio in 2014, in which he revealed he loved to fight when he was younger.

“All types of fights. Any kind of fight, I loved it, including physical,” he said.
