Apple reopens 100 more stores across US
Branches allowing customers to attend in person enforcing temperature checks and mask policy
Apple is planning to re-open 100 more of its stores in the US amidst the coronavirus pandemic this week.
More than half of the stores that are opening will only be offering curbside pick-up service, Apple said.
Those that re-open for face to face service will be enforcing a range of measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 including social distancing.
“This week we’ll return to serving customers in many US locations,” Apple told Bloomberg on Tuesday in a statement.
“For customer safety and convenience, most stores will offer curbside or storefront service only, where we provide online order pick-up and Genius Bar appointments.”
Customers will be required to comply with certain measures to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus including temperature checks, social distancing and masks, Apple told the outlet.
The retailer has approximately 270 retail locations across the country, and 30 of it’s US locations already re-opened earlier this month after forced closures due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The tech giant had also already reopened some of its other worldwide branches including Australia, Canada, Austria, Germany, South Korea, Italy and Switzerland.
Apple plans to roll out the re-opening of stores in Japan and Sweden this week alongside the number in the US.
The United States has confirmed almost 1.7 million cases of the novel coronavirus and has recorded over 100,000 deaths as of Wednesday, according to data from the Johns Hopkins University.
