PARIS (Reuter) - Gunmen killed a journalist with Algerian state television station and wounded two of his companions in an attack on Monday night.
The Algerian news agency APS blamed the attack against Abdelkader Hireche on three armed 'terrorists' - the official term for Muslim militants who have waged a campaign of political violence against the state for the past two years.
The attack took place at about 9.30pm on Monday near the town of Gue de Constantine, which is in the same province as the capital, Algiers.
