The jailed leader of Albania's Socialist Party, Fatos Nano, alleged in court yesterday that President Sali Berisha's government was perverting the course of justice in order to eleminate him as a political opponent, Reuter reports from Tirana. Nano, a former prime minister was speaking at an appeals court hearing against a 12 year jail sentence he received last month for embezzlement.
