The former South African president, 94, spent nine days under treatment for pneumonia. It was his third trip to a hospital since December.
A statement from the office of the country's president, Jacob Zuma, said: "(He) has been discharged from hospital today, 6 April, following a sustained and gradual improvement in his general condition."
President Zuma thanked "the hard-working medical team."
