A beaming Nelson Mandela appeared to be in good health as he attended the naming ceremony of his eighth great-grandson this week.
The former South African President looked delighted as he held the baby boy at a private celebration at his family home in Qunu. Mr Mandela named his great-grandson Qheya Zanethemba ("to bring hope"). He is the son of Mr Mandela's grandson and heir, Xhosa chieftain Nkosi Mandla Mandela, and his wife Nobubele.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation was last week forced to deny Twitter rumours that Mr Mandela, 93, had died.
