Your support makes all the difference.A male contestant has been removed from the South African version of Big Brother over a "sex assault" claim by a fellow housemate.
Siyanda Ngwenya, known as “Adams” on Big Brother Mzansi, was reportedly accused of assaulting a fellow housemate while she was asleep.
The pair were filmed kissing and cuddling in bed before the cameras moved away and Ngwenya reportedly claimed to housemates the next day that he had intercourse with the contestant.
However, the female housemate was apparently shocked by the claims and informed female housemates that she had not consented to having sex with Ngwenya.
In a statement, Mzansi Magic, the channel that airs the programme said: “At this stage it is not exactly clear what transpired."
“Having suspected that there may have been an incident of sexual misconduct, Mszansi Magic acted by removing both individuals from the house.”
It also said that Ngwenya had been expelled for misconduct rather than sexual assault. It also said that both were receiving counselling.
It has not yet been revealed whether police have been called into investigate the alleged incident, which took place on Saturday night.
Earlier today M-Net, the corporation that owns Mzansi Magic said that they had enlisted the services of law firm Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr to investigate the processes surrounding the incident.
All current contestants have been barred from speaking to the media.
The incident comes after two contestants, including Adams were reprimanded for bad behaviour.
Earlier on Saturday night Ngwenya and a contestant known as “K2” attempted to grab and kiss a female contestant in the dressing room.
IOL News reports that the two grabbed her, kissed her on the cheek and groped her.
The two later apologised for their actions according to IOL.
The 2015 edition of the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother was beset by another sexual assault scandal when ex-Baywatch actor Jeremy Jackson became the first housemate to ever be thrown out of the house after he allegedly groped model Chloe Goodman.
