Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Pats outlasted the Los Angeles Rams 13-3, the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in history, to win a sixth crown to equal that of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Running back Sony Michel plunged in for the only touchdown of the game with seven minutes remaining in what proved to be the decisive play of a game dominated by defences.
LA quarterback Jared Goff came up small when it mattered most throwing an interception to Stephon Gilmore with a little over three minutes to go which ultimately proved fatal.
Kicker Stephen Gostkowski missed one field goal before making a second as the Patriots led 3-0 at the half.
Greg Zuerlein tied the game in the second but it was Michel's two-yard score in the fourth quarter after a clutch catch from tight end Rob Gronkowski which gave New England a lead they would ultimately never relinquish.
Gostkowski's second field goal with a minute and a half left iced it and sparked jubilant scenes inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and back in Boston.
