What happens when a man wearing a suit of Mentos… oh you've been on the internet for long enough, you know exactly what happens.

The stunt formed an advert for Epic Meal Time's new show on FYI, with the volunteer being covered head to toe in the sweets.

Inevitably his dunking led to an explosion of soft drink, the science behind which is below should you so desire it:

The numerous small pores on the candy's surface catalyse the release of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas from the soda, resulting in the rapid expulsion of copious quantities of foam.

Any carbonated beverage will produce a similar effect, but Diet Coke became the most popular after it was found to produce the best results.
