From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.A polar bear in the wild will be born into ice and snow, having to fight to survive the harsh arctic weather - not to mention the melting polar ice caps - right from the off.
For a polar bear born into captivity, things are very different however, with many having a long wait to experience their natural habitat.
For this little bear born in Toronto the wait wasn’t too lengthy however and the city’s zoo has released a video of the adorable moment he first got to experience snow.
Born on 9 November last year, the cub is just coming up to three months old.
The minute long clip shows the baby bear sitting and patting the snow while making a cute squawking noise.
We’re not quite sure if he’s been completely won over by the white stuff straight away though - he soon crawled toward the zoo keeper. Maybe it just takes some getting used to.
