Paul Hughes, deputy head gardener at Biddulph Grange garden near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, helping to restore the Stumpery, a collection of old tree stumps, stems and roots piled up on each other to form a decorative framework on each side of a winding path on the 15-acre site, to its original Victorian splendour.
