Three partially-blind pensioners turned on a teenager who tried to snatch one of their handbags. The women, aged 69, 71, and 72, were so angry when two of them were knocked to the ground in Herne Bay, Kent, that they fought back. One of them beat the would-be bag-snatcher with her white stick until he finally fled empty-handed. A police spokesman said: 'The women were very brave and plucky to send this thief packing.'
