The Labour Party in Blackpool: Decisions of the day

The conference yesterday:

Rejected an attack on the leadership for becoming 'pale imitations of the Tories or Liberals';

Agreed to the setting up of a new national policy forum;

Called for legislation on the public's right to know about environmental performance and potential hazards;

Rejected a call to halt all imports of coal; Reaffirmed opposition to the privatisation of British Rail; Called for a transport policy to reduce car use;

Opposed privatisation of water and sewerage services in Scotland.
