Sebastian Barker was born in Gloucestershire in 1945. He studied Natural

Science and English Literature at Oxford and East Anglia. In 1984 he helped

inaugurate the Surrey Literature Festival and co-directed the first Royal Berkshire Poetry Festival. His previous collections include On the Rocks, A Fire in the Rain, and A Nuclear Epiphany. This poem appears in Guarding the Border published by Enitharmon at pounds 7.95.
