For copyright reasons we are not able to provide the full text of the poem on this database. Following are the details of the publication in which it appears.
Olly Komenda-Soentgerath was born in Prague into a German family in 1923.
Since 1946 she has lived in the Federal Republic of Germany, and translated the poetry of Jaroslav Seifert, who in 1984 received the Nobel Prize for Literature. Seifert in turn translated Olly Komenda- Soentgerath's poetry into Czech. This poem appears in Under My Eyelides (Forest Books, pounds 6.95) translated from German by Tom Beck with an afterword by Jaroslav Seifert. This is the last poem in this week's series on the theme of autumn.
