For copyright reasons we are not able to provide the full text of the poem on this database. Following are the details of the publication in which it appears.

Jim Crumley was born in Dundee in 1947 and now lives near Linlithgow, in Scotland where he is a full time writer. Poetry has featured in several of his eight books, mostly on the Scottish landscape. His last work Waters of the Wild Swan was published by Jonathan Cape in 1992 and Mainstream will be publishing his new book Among Mountains in October.

Submissions are being invited for a new anthology of poems for Bosnia. Poems should be sent to Ken Smith, 78 Friars Road, London E6.

For all of this week and next, the Daily Poem features a work suggested or provoked by events in Bosnia.
