This week the Association of University Teachers' annual council will debate policy on sexual relationships between staff and students.
Bradford University has already adopted a code advising lecturers not to enter into any sexual or romantic relationships that could compromise academic trust. If lecturers do fall for students they are obliged to declare it so that alternative arrangements can be made for assessment. To leave a relationship undeclared 'may be regarded as misconduct and could leave the member of staff open to disciplinary action'.
