An Asian constable who was passed over for promotion, racially abused and victimised by his police force has accepted a record pounds 25,000 in compensation.
Dan Crompton, Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire, formally apologised to PC Joginder Singh Prem, 38, a Sikh, for unlawful racial discrimination during his 10 years of service. The case was settled prior to an industrial tribunal hearing. The award is the highest of its kind.
