Your support makes all the difference.NORMAN LAMONT, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, was urged by members of the Tory backbench finance committee last night to increase Value Added Tax and other indirect taxes in next month's Budget.
At a meeting at the Commons, the backbenchers told the Chancellor the tax increases were necessary in order to reduce the public sector borrowing requirement.
