Your support makes all the difference.UNDIPLOMATIC: The number of parking fines unpaid by diplomats soared last year to 3,613, from 1,941 in 1993, according to Tony Baldry, Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Foreign Office. The increase, the first since 1986, coincided with a campaign against illegal parking in London. Worst offenders were the United Arab Emirates, with 470 outstanding fines, Angola (404), Qatar (353), Saudi Arabia (125) and Nigeria(118).
FATE OF COLLEGE: Ministers hope to make a decision by the end of the year on whether the Royal Naval College should remain at Greenwich, Roger Freeman, Minister of State for Defence Procurement, said. They "would shortly be seeking expressions of interest in the site from organisations able to propose uses sympathetic to the character of buildings".
